Great antenna

I was looking for an antenna that would keep me from having to go to cable after the transition to digital. I tried several antennas, including one that was amplified. This Terk TV-1, together with a converter box, was better than all the rest. Don't be fooled by the hipe of "HDTV Antennas". Also, although it may be sent with a UHF loop, you don't need it. I get channels 21,25 41,45 & 68 just with the antenna as pictured without any loop. I live in Nassau County on Long Island, NY. Unfortunately this antenna has been discontinued and probably will be difficult to obtain. After I bought my fist one, I tried several vendors thru Amazon who initially stated that it was "in stock", came back with "no longer stocked". I was fortunately able to get one thru amazon, by continuing to search for it over several months. If you're lucky enough to find one, buy it, you won't be disapointed.

This product did not work any better with the digital converter box than the rabbit ears that came with the old analog TV set.

This little antenna hooks up in just a couple of minutes and works fantastic. We don't need a large outdoor, on the roof antenna to get the local channels using the Terk.
Very Few Channels- you get what you pay for

Hooked up to my converter box, it gets very few channels and needs to be adjusted constantly. I do live in a high rise building and have other buildings around me. My replacement is the RCA Ant1400 which is a digital flat antenna and this gets almost 30 channels compared to the 4 on the Terk.
Difficult

Depending on the tv you are planning to use this with, it can be very difficult to set-up. Connecting the UHF/VHF small, metal hooks to the antenna piece was difficult. I still haven't used it, and just bought a different one. The item appears very cheap.
