VIZIO VF551XVT Reviews

rated 5 out of 5 Fantastic Television
by Donte D. Turner from DC, 2010-03-15

This TV is everything we expected it to be. The picture clarity is phenominal and compared to the other televisions, this particular model was perfect for our needs. We watched everything from "A Bugs Life" to "Law Abiding Citizen" to "Transformers" and it's like watching the movie for the first time. My husband opted for this model opposed to the newer model with the apps and I think it was a good decision. If you have a PS3, Smart Phone, Laptop or DirecTV, you can pretty much get online and visit your FB, Twitter, etc. My husband invested quite a bit of money into our surround sound so I am not sure how good the audio is on the TV. Nevertheless, this TV is well worth the money.

rated 5 out of 5 AWESOME PICTURE

I can hardly believe the true high definition this tv produces. It is hooked up to Dish Network High Def. I have looked at simular led tv that cost twice the price of this Vizio and to me they did not provide as good a picture as this Vizio. Iam more than satisfied. Ron Letzelter, Hampton, Va

Shipping a 55" Flat Screen TV was a concern. Then it went from Arizona to Michigan three times before the original shipping company figured out the logistics for delivery to my rural home. I called Amazon to express my concern and they paid for an extended three year warranty.
TV works great- hope it continues to work.

rated 5 out of 5 A lot of bang for the buck.

First off, I researched TVs for about 6 months while planning on buying a new one when I got my tax return in. This was the one I wanted but was out of my price range when I started looking. During Super Bowl week Sam's Club and Costco each dropped the price on this TV by $300 so I went looking for it, all sold out everywhere. Checked out Amazon the day after the Super Bowl (the day the sale ended for Sam's and Costco) and lo and behold they had priced matched Costco, which was a hundred more than Sam's Club. Buying from Amazon I saved on shipping and sales tax so I actually made out a little better than if I had found it at Sam's. The TV is awesome, super vivid picture and easy to setup. The true motion, which gives some parts of movies and TV shows a home video or soap opera like quality, takes a little time to get used to but you can adjust the settings so it's not so pronounced. The sound is about typical for any flat screen TV so I went with the Vizio sound bar which sounds great and you don't have speakers and wires all over the place. Blu-Rays and video games on the PS3 rock as well. I highly suggest this TV, for the money it's just as good if not better than some I saw for twice as much. The only problem I had wasn't from the TV but from the shipping company that Amazon uses, Ceva. They lost my TV in the warehouse in my city and every time I called they told me it was in another city. I finally had to get Amazon involved and they still tried to tell me it was in anther city even though their head office told me it was in my town. After a few more calls I finally got ahold of someone in the warehouse department and they found my TV and had it on a truck the next day (over a week late at this point). Like I said, this was a shipping problem so it doesn't reflect my product grade at all. I only mention it in case anyone else has this problem. My advice would be to call early in the morning and call often until the problem is resolved.

rated 5 out of 5 Stunning picture, worthwhile upgrade.

Recently, my father's 62" Mitsubishi DLP TV stopped working and needed to be replaced. He didn't want alot of room taken up, but still wanted a good sized screen. Based on reviews at Amazon and other sites, I recommended the Vizio. I have two Sharp Aquos TVs and the quality difference is instantly notable. The picture is incredibly sharp and fluid, so much so that I will be replacing my own TVs which are now a few years old. Vizio has a winner on their hands.
