rated 5 out of 5 Blew Me Away...
by Mike , 2010-09-03

I purchased this from best buy. they only had one left. their demo wasn't working and I just ended up just getting it. I get home and took me about 30 mins to setup to my PS3. Pure Amazing... all my buddies have come over and all agree it's the next best thing. I haven't got to test out movies yet, because the PS3 has pushed their firmware release for bluray movies to Oct 2010 per press conference yesterday. Not much selection right now for 3d gaming on the PS3, but what is available is amazing.

Very straight forward when hooking up to your Mitsubishi TV. No problems only concern the HDMI cable included needs to be longer. It is only about 1 foot.

rated 5 out of 5 Works exactly as advertised....wished the manual had more troubleshooting
by Alexander from Tampa, FL, US, 2010-08-30

Well, I finally got the 3D adapter for my Mitsubishi WD-60735. I also ended up buying an LG Blu Ray 3D player. Setup of the adapter was a snap, however, the troubleshooting was a bit difficult. I kept getting a washed out image on my screen and couldn't figure it out for the life of me. If you are like me and getting washed out colors, go to the setup menu of your Blu Ray player and make sure the video is outputted as RGB (altering your video settings on your television won't help). As soon as I selected RGB, the colors were normal and I was finally able to watch the Blu Ray disc in its full glory. I'm super excited about this, I just wished there were more Blu Ray 3D titles.

rated 5 out of 5 3D in my freakin' living room man!
by Randy Turnbow from Phoenix, AZ, 2010-08-29

I've been using the 3DC-1000 kit for about a month now and find that it does everything it's supposed to and does it well. I have a Mitsubishi WD-73738 2010 model 3D TV that it's connected to. I consolidate all my HDMI sources through a Yamaha AVR which is fed to the 3DC-1000 then to the TV. I've verified I can play 3D content from Directv and PS3 games. The PS3 update is not out yet but I will be able to watch 3D blu-ray when it comes out.

REMOTE: I programmed my Harmony One with the 3DC-1000 remote and it works perfectly although there is no specific driver on the Logitech site yet so I just used a generic video box selection then learned the few required commands, about 5 I think. No big deal.

GLASSES: Comes with 2 pairs. I have a large head and the glasses fit a little snug, but not so snug they hurt my head when viewing for awhile. The on/off button is easily to access and turns on and off after holding a few seconds. I'm curious how long the battery will last with repeated use since it's so small. You can purchase extra glasses separately if needed.

INSTALLING: Pretty much a breeze since all inputs and outputs are well marked. You will likely need an extra HDMI cable to finish the install so order an extra when you purchase. My Mitsu TV comes with an emitter port as well.

OPERATION: Duh...power it on and if the picture isn't right press the mode button until it is. Monkey proof. The box needs to be powered on all the time for 2D to work which I don't understand. They should have opted for pass-through on power-off but didn't. This means it must be programmed into my Harmony remote as part of the power up process for all HDMI sources. Yes ALL HDMI sources including those w/o 3D content. Easy enough, but kinda senseless.

SUMMARY: 3D in my living room, are you kidding me man? I love it, and the coolness factor is through the roof. Yes I have a Mitsubishi TV and a 3D AVR (HDMI 1.4) and a PS3 and Directv and an Xbox 360 and a Wii so I gotta have 3D pretty much. Directv 3D programs look beautiful as do the PS3 games. Perhaps I'll update this post again when the PS3 is playing 3D BD's in September. I'm not sure if Xbox plans on supporting 3D but I don't think it matters with the PS3 and Directv doing so.

rated 3 out of 5 No other options, so...

First of all, the darkening is real but will function. Its what you have to expect considering the adapter has to adjust the entire screen shuttering pattern.
Now for the backhanded compliment:
What is REALLY frustrating to me is that Mitsi created an adapter to get their legacy DLPs to function as a 3D device whenever 3D actually arrives. I'm an adult, and I can't watch CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS more than once. Then what? There is no content. I don't have directTV, so I might consider that.
However, I have one of the legacy SAMSUNG 3D NOT-SO-READY televisions. I bought it and was unable to buy the glasses. I thought it was just out of stock for awhile. Nope! Samsung just abandoned their user base and left all of us in the lurch. Mitsi, in a bold marketing move, specifically blocked the SAMSUNG televisions from being able to use the adapter.
I'll buy a 3D television one of these days, but not anytime soon. Even the glasses (just about all of them) will not work with each other. The universality of the system is still years away. Think about having DVDs that work with Sony, another for Panasonic, etc. Once your set dies, you're screwed.
-NO CONTENT ON CABLE
-NO INTERCONNECTIVITY
-NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT
If I want 3D, I'll take a walk around the block.
