rated 4 out of 5 A Practical Review
by Joe Blow Consumer , 2010-07-24

I base my rating on the value for the money and how I plan to use the TV as opposed to a comparison to newer TVs on the market.

720p which is perfectly suitable for my needs. While I haven't yet attached a PC to this device my understanding is that 1080p is where you want to be if using as a PC monitor is of importance. On another note I wouldn't say this is great looking or cheap looking TV. Just a very middle of the road appearance.

Pro
* Nice picture with rich color.
* Nice picture controls (backlight, contrast, brightness, color, tint,H-sharpness, V-Sharpness, etc)
* Nice menuing system
* The remote is basic without being cheap or annoying. Rubberized keys but they do not glow. The remote is not too big or too small either.
* Standard Definition TV looks pretty good on this TV. I use the mode that automatically resizes the image based on the signal which means I view std tv in a 4:3 box (I do not stretch).

Cons
* The power on light is too large and annoying (at least 2" wide). The same light turns red when off and that is my problem. I don't need or want a light that tells me the TV is off. (Blue=on and No Light would have been preferrable). Perhaps I can disable or tape over it.
* The speakers are NOT front firing. They fire to the back or down. This may be a problem for some. I currently have it in a cabinet and it sounds fine but speakers on the bottom facing forward would be better. If you plan to use external speakers then this doesn't really matter.
* No S-Video. To some with Standard Quality cable (not HD) the S-video provides the best image but unfortunately it isn't avail.

In summation I think this TV is a nice value from a name brand manufacturer.

rated 5 out of 5 Stunning Picture Quality
by Shekhar from Philadelphia, PA, 2010-06-22

I bought this TV couple of months ago from Walmart. What a stunning picture quality it has. It stood out from all the TVs on display around it due to it's vivid color and crisp picture. We bought it immediately and no regret. We love the picture quality. Sound quality is average as they say how it is in the flat TVs. Hence I bought a home theater system to complement it's picture quality and now we have stunning picture with amazing sound. Watching TV/movies is more fun than ever. With the home theater system, the sound is now balanced and there is no shocking sound level increase during the commercials.

The remote is nice and I like the quick setup button which pops up a circular dialogue box on the TV with most frequently used settings.

It has two HDMI inputs altough some competition TVs have more than 2 HDMI inputs. It also features a digital optical audio out and number of other traditional connectors including VGA input so that you could use it as a monitor for your computer.

rated 4 out of 5 Picture shortcomings
by A. B. Abelow , 2010-05-21

After thoroughly researching the various 32" offerings, I decided on an LG, 720 p. This is a bit of a disappointmnet, as the picture is not as sharp as I expected and the viewing from the side- tho done rarely- is quite faded and distorted. I also had great difficulty in attaching the screen portion to its base- the instructions are inadequate. Overall, I'm satisfied- but it should have been better for the price I paid.
